Can we play at SMBV if we are not in a league?

Yes you can. We rent open courts for $25/ hr. Leagues fill the courts on certain evenings and the availability varies so call ahead to reserve your desired playing time. League players enjoy the opportunity to come in and play free anytime, any night provided there are open courts available.

What is the difference between recreational and intermediate?

Our leagues are almost a 50-50 split between rec and int. Recreational is for beginners who hit the ball over the net on the first hit. If your team can pass and set reasonably well then you should sign up for intermediate. We try to balance leagues by looking at past sessions results. It is not unusual to see teams that have never played before move up to intermediate by their second or third session, while others are not looking for that much competition and they have a blast staying in recreational.

What are the coed rules?

"Coed" means that at least as many women are on the court as men at any given time. Most teams play with three men and three women (not including subs), but it is not unusual to see all womens teams playing in coed leagues.

Can we play with less than six people in the coed sixes leagues?

Yes, as long as you have at least as many women as men. For example, you could play with five as long as three were women. Exceptions to this are OK if the team captains agree before the match begins.

Is my credit card charged automatically when we register?

This year we will be using PayPal to collect league fees. Registration through our website will otherwise remain the same.

Can individuals sign up for league play?

We receive several inquiries from players that would like to be placed on a team. We do our best to put these players together to form a new team or put them in contact with existing teams needing a player. No guarantees. Just email us your skill level, available nights and any contact information that you would not mind us giving potential teammates.

Can I have my childs birthday party at The Beach?
